I really wanted to love this hat…I wore it around, tried looking at it from the side, adjusted it on my head as low as I could get it above my ears- but I’m an old-baseball cap style guy. This is more a hybrid design of trucker & low profile…definitely not a rounded baseball cap design of course, so for most people (99%+ of the reviews) - it’s a perfect combo & one I really tried to make fit me & just couldn’t make it work unfortunately.
I did know it was stiffened at the front from the photos & this is such a high level of quality / color, it was to be a clean / professional hat I planned to wear at work with our usual Polo / Cargo pant attire…
When I saw “low profile with curved brim”, I thought, finally - they actually made a legit structured hat that doesn’t look like a giant billboard sign across your forehead!!!
*(I am of the other opinion on the “flat brim / trucker hats” myself & absolutely despise the look of them personally).
This was a great attempt, but is still too tall to be considered a true “low profile”, except by comparison to a standard high trucker hat. I’m the <1% that can’t pull this off, so it’s definitely me & why I wear 8-10 year old baseball caps that have lost their shape permanently as well now. It was so very “close”, but needed to be a bit shorter on top or more rounded / curved crown like UA used to make a few years back (which I exclusively own & wear to their wear out point).
The hat is an awesome design, great quality & the small touches (sectional interior, vented back & washable material ) puts it over the top of competitors - except again the crown height for me. I actually did like the design / concept of the hat so much in fact, I didn’t even return it : I gave it to a younger mechanic /new helo pilot I met that could pull off the higher style very well. He loved it.
